Two Sentences
 
The game is to put two sentences together, the second creating tension with the first, using "tension" to mean anything you like.

An example:

1st writer: She felt his hand move up her thigh.
2nd writer: Surely it was his hand.

I'll provide the first sentence; the next person provides the second sentence, and then a first sentence for which the following person after that provides the second sentence, and so on.

So, to begin:


He reached out into the darkness in front of him.
