Well, I don't pray, but here's a big hug to everyone in your family, because everyone needs hugs at a time like that.

Take care, Peg. Can you travel on some kind of temporary document?

dickieC 06-23-2003 11:32 AM

There must be some kind of compassionate clause for people in your position?!

Hugs

bealeblues 06-23-2003 11:46 AM

i'm having all the bible belters in the office send up a collective prayer...

trisherina 06-23-2003 11:52 AM

Hence the passport mention she made earlier... aw, Peg, hope you can convince them to do the right thing. (If not, I will happily pass on to you all the crossings our Silicon Valley friend uses...)

Red Princess 06-23-2003 11:53 AM

Yep. The British Embassy brought me a new passport in the Bahamas once, bought me lunch too. I'ts easy for them to do at a week's notice. So stop worrying and get over there.

bealeblues 06-23-2003 01:22 PM

obviously they didn't research exactly who you were very well-- otherwise they would've been bringing you lunch while you were wearing stripes....

Red Princess 06-23-2003 01:23 PM

they were just trying to keep him from going back to england

bealeblues 06-23-2003 01:49 PM

well that makes sense....

Peg - I just read about an herb mixture that's available in health food stores - it's called Zyflamend - apparently it slows the growth of prostate cancer cells almost as well as the pharmaceutical NS-398, which is commonly prescribed - without the nasty side affects (like hair loss, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, lowered blod counts, reduced ability to clot blood, and increased risk of infection).

If you're interested, and they don't carry it in a health food store near you - let me know - a store near me carries it -

Just take comfort in knowing that many, many men go through this (including L. A.'s Cardinal Mahoney) and come out just fine. Something like 70% of men develop prostate cancer by the age of 70 - the hospitals have been getting lots of practice at dealing with it.

I don't do the praying thing either, but I really really hope things get better soon Peg...
*hugs*
