For the love of Annie (ALL PLEASE READ)
 

Ok, I'm not normally an activist, but I saw an ad in the paper today that sickened me. It was an ad from an apartment rental service that offers a free kitten with every new lease signed.

This is just terrible. People are irresponsible enough when they have to actually go out and get and pay for a pet, but to have an adorable kitten handed to them it's very easy to make a snap judgement and take it and keep it while it's cute and tiny. We all know that kitten's don't stay that way. They become cats and once the novelty of the "kitten" wear's off many people abandon or give up their cute pets or worse. Also, I know for a fact that no reputiable adoption place would hand kittens out in such a manner. Therefore these kittens are for sure from some sort of kitten mill. It's just plain disgusting.

I'm asking each of you, whether your a cat person or not (insert puppy, bird, ferret, etc.) and please contact this agency and let them know how disgusted you are with this "incentive" they are offering their tenants.

I have to agree, that is a pretty bad way to get renters to sign the lease. It is like people that buy bunnies at easter time and then get sick of them 2 months later. I read an equally irritating article today on the other side of the spectrum..some times activists just need to leave well enough alone..
