Sorry, just too sickly for me.........'scuse the pavement pizza.

Do NYwriters basket idea only fill it with condoms and lube...or, you could just take them out for dinner and order a nice bottle of champagne and make a toast to their engagement...

zenbabe 11-20-2002 02:53 PM

Oh i'm feeling it NY, I have blisters on my feet and I can't figure out how to get this damn trampoline to work! That is what I get for buying out of catalogue's I guess....

dinzdale 11-20-2002 03:49 PM

Actually, you hit on a good idea....buy the happy couple some cement, something they could actually use instead of the poncey union/ ribbon / crap thing......

Just call me an old romantic.....

Engagement

Champagne every time. Just make sure it's a bottle of the proper stuff. Like Veuve Cliquot or Dom Perignon. Only time most people get to drink it, so make sure they invite you along too!

chuckie egg 11-21-2002 05:45 AM

Thanks for all your ideas, I've actually bought them a picture for their wall! I hope they'll like it, this is a big risk I'm taking isnt it? I made them swear they'd be honest with me.

Anyway, I'll have it if they dont like it :D

I was planning to take a bottle of champers down anyway.

They're from down your way Dickie C, Harrow! A few of us are going to see them this friday and then going clubbin in London on Saturday.... any reccomendations???

dickieC 11-21-2002 09:35 AM

Clubbing

Er, no. I'm not the clubbing type, except at the really bad Oxford clubs after I've had so much to drink that my dancing approximates Ze's. Of course, it never reaches those elevated heights...

And I've never been to Harrow, actually. Though I am going to a housewarming in Stockwell this Saturday.

Sorry, that's no help at all, is it?

chuckie egg 11-21-2002 09:58 AM

Sorry dickie I'm not that knowledgable when it comes to geography down south! I know where London is.... and Hemel Hempstead, I've been there.... but thats about it!

dickieC 11-21-2002 10:18 AM

Ah, Hemel Hempstead. What a delightful place. I am convinced that the opening credits of The Office were filmed there, and not in Slough.

Stockwell's yer sarf Lunnon. Harrow's north.

Have you seen that amazing roundabout in hemel? Six mini roundabouts combined into one huge one so you can go in any direction you like! Its very scary!

dickieC 11-21-2002 10:22 AM

Yeah, town planning in the 1960s. You gotta love those funky roads.

The one (and thankfully only) time I've been there was on the coach back from Stansted to Oxford. Went through at about 4 am so missed the worst of it.
