Just got off the phone with my father.

Earlier this week I called to wish him a happy 49th birthday. We got to talking about food & I told him about Hardee's new breakfast biscuit bowl. A biscuit, a sausage patty, some scrambled eggs, cheese & their biscuit gravy drowning it all. My father was quick to tell me how their mushroom swiss burger is "orgasmic eating", and how he is looking very much forward to the biscuit bowl.

Then he went on to tell me he's seen commercials for Sonic, they have some kind of breakfast steak potato burrito thing. But we don't have any around here. He said if he sees one more commercial, he is taking a road trip to the nearest Sonic to eat.

I looked on the net today & the nearest Sonic's are in DesMoines & ChampaignUrbana. I called my dad's house just now to get my sister's new address & told him about the Sonic in Des Moines.

Il Mio Padre: Des Moines? That's only 6 hours away. You know what I'm thinking? We leave Saturday, get there for lunch & dinner, sleep in the parking lot, then wake up & have some of their breakfasts. Then lunch again before we head home.

La Sua Figlia: And don't eat for a few days beforehand in anticipation.

Il Mio Padre: Orgasmic eating. You know what I'm eating right now? Twinkies. You know what you do? Heat them up first in the microwave. Then chocolate sauce over that. Ahhhhhhh!!!!

La Sua Figlia: Yuck.

Il Mio Padre: You don't even know. You know those Nutter Butter Cookies? You know what you do? Take a jar of peanut butter & dip them into it, just like chips & dip. Ohhhh ho ho!!!

La Sua Figlia: Damn, Dad. Why don't you try that with the Twinkies?

Il Mio Padre: Now you're talking, let me try that. For scientific purposes, I am now spreading peanut butter on the Twinkie.

yeah - warm zabaglione and fresh razzies is pert darn near a perfect food experience...

Also up there for me is a really good bagel (not the spongy kind that come in bags), preferably the "salt" variety, toasted and still warm, with cold deli cream cheese, lox, red onions, and capers. Holy *cow*.

Good bittersweet chocolate... the crab quesadilla I had the other night...

Ooo! and freshly made creme anglaise - still warm... ay.

And good fettucine alfredo... and yeah, there are lots of other things... :D

Holy fark...I just tried your fig, cheese and honey idea (except I substituted Swiss cheese for Goat cheese...I'm just not crazy about goat cheese :( ).

OMG it was marvelous...way decadent....sooooooo gooooooood.

Then I made a bacon wrapped version without the honey for a second dessert...I am Fig full and oh so food orgasmic right now.

one day you'll be ready for the goat cheese, coffee :D try a little bit once, heat it in the oven (very high temperature) and pour the honey over it.. mmmmm.. watercrest leaves with a little bit of that dressing you use in a caesar's salad.. and some roasted pine nuts on the side.. MMMMM!!

I can eat goat cheese...My GBF (uh...i can have a GBF can't I?) loves exotic cheeses and crazy olives and stuff...so I have been exposed to lots of cheeses...goat cheese is a bit spunky for my tastes...but perhaps it was just "that variety" of goat cheese...

I'm staying open to the idea...just didn't want to invest in an unknown cheese till I gave the concept a test run with what I had on hand.

the honey will make the goat cheese less icky :)

the Mexican restautant I frequent uses goat cheese on everything. It is wonderful. Very thin and white and melts wonderfully. YUM

I have more food porns than I could ever post here.
All this summer I've been collecting the grape tomatoes off my two plants and they never seem to make it into the house! Sweetest, juciest tomatoes ever and I'd like to have a dozen of those plants so they'd at least make it to the kitchen!
My neighbors must wonder about me standing in my front yard after work pulling tomatoes off those plants and "Mmmmmm"ing to myself! :D
Unfortunately, Frances was not too kind to them. Still got the jalapeno going well, but that isn't so much orgasmic as it is a direct electric jolt to the system.
