RED Hot Mama

Hey Red! What's new with your pregnancy? Have you fixed up a baby room yet? Do you know what you're having? Do you have possible names picked out? Are you tired of being pregnant yet? How's Mr. Red doing? What's your favorite thing about being pregnant? What's your least favorite thing about being pregnant? Is the baby kicking a lot? Please, please post a piccie of your pregnant self on the board so we can see how cute you look! How are you?

In other words - SPILL IT ALL! :D

Wow! My very own thread.
Baby room is fixed up. I'm not a real frou-frou person so it's not real "baby-like". We have rocketships, stars, constellations, planets, art by Joel Nakamura (LOVE his stuff) and lots of bright colors.

We are having a boy.

We have names, but we keep going back and forth on them. We probably won't make up our minds until he's here. We do know the last name, it'll be D's last name.

I'm tired of being pregnant only because of the things I have given up for the health of the baby. (margaritas, soft cheeses, sushi, beer)

D (a.k.a. Mr. red) is doing fine except when he can't sleep because I'm snoring. He either moves to the couch or the guest room. I heard my sister snoring one time and she was really loud. I asked him if that's what I sounded like and he said I was much quieter than that. He is a very light sleeper and I sleep like the dead.
He has also read more books than me about the baby. I'm really happy about this because I have found the books kinda boring. There are a few I'd probably use like reference books, ya know, when he's sick, how serious is it, etc.

My favorite thing about being pregnant has got to be feeling the kid move inside of me.

The least favorite thing has got to be how messed up my digestive system is. I run to the bathroom so I can fart (they have become really loud and I can't let it go in the office anymore…hmm, TMI?), I have heartburn over almost everything and I burp all the time.

The baby is kicking an moving a lot. I get some really painful ones when he kicks my cervix. Maybe someone wants out now?

I'm working on a photo.

I am really good. I keep waiting to feel like crap, but it hasn't really happened. It's still early, plenty of time left to feel crappy!

edited to add pic

Glad to hear you are doing well, asides from the heartburn, gas, and then little line backer kicking you.

Aaaaw. A little Red/D son. His room sounds cute.

If you decide to nurse, you'll be waiting even longer for some of that stuff. :( (it's worth it though)

I sympathize with you, Red. I had a really easy pregnancy. Not even morning sickness, thankfully! But the one thing I had a lot of was heartburn. It practically drove me insane!! So other than your heartburn and his practicing kickboxing with your cervix, glad to hear you're doing so well! :D

Keep us posted, and post that pic soon!

I do plan on nursing, but I can pump before I go out for margaritas!

ally 11-11-2004 07:12 AM

Sadly it doesn't quite work like that!!

zenbabe 11-11-2004 07:19 AM

You have to give up cheese!?!?!??!??!?!?!?!?!?!?

ally 11-11-2004 07:26 AM

You're not s'posed to eat unpasturised cheese when you're pregnant, I.E. most soft cheeses (also some hard ones, like parmesan). It's a pain it the arse.

Willow Sylph 11-11-2004 01:13 PM

I wasn't aware of that. Why not? That's just wrong.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

waaaaahhh haa aaaah aaah.

Maybe I better read a breastfeeding book.

Willow Sylph 11-11-2004 01:16 PM

The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding was pretty informative. Make D read it and give you a cliff's notes version of it. :)

red 11-11-2004 01:20 PM

I think he might stop short of reading the breasfeeding book.
too bad.
The only time I have left during the day is at night before bed and reading a book ALWAYS puts me to sleep. I guess I should try during lunch time.

HAH!

hmmmm…now what if I am able to pump the hell out myself, so much so that I can go have a margarita for one night? Oh wait, I forgot I'm pretty much gonna be like a cow. I'll have to be milked at regular intervals. ew.

well fvck.

maybe I'll just go on a cheese binge instead. I could wallow in a nice double creme brie or something.
