Slice, not just a second-rate soft drink

When you have a boy, you have the choice to circumcise him.
Would you do it? Why or why not.

Nineteen years ago, when my son was born, I did (opt for him to be circumcised), and my main rationale was that it was for hygienic reasons. There may be an entire new body of information about it, and the decision may or may not have been a good one. I haven't actually had occasion to think about it for nineteen years!

Might be a good idea to ask your (future) pediatrician, if you have one picked out, ask your OB-GYN, and do a Google search to see if there's any medical information to help you decide.

What I hear is that is easier to clean a circumcised penis, and it is more hygenic. I have heard of men having to get it done later in life, and that it is quite painful. But I don't know.

I would do it just for the sake of their future girlfriends and wives!

Slut ahoy!

Circumcision is child abuse.

Teaching your son good hygiene will take care of most problems.

Ask my step father about it. My mother refused to marry him because he was not circumcised. For that reason, at the age of 40, he had it done. I do believe he has been pissed off ever since. Do it when they are tiny in every way.

In all fairness, it is more hygenic and circumcised men have fewer urinary tract problems (so I have been told; but you would have to ask Trish or Snake to make sure).

edited to add..never mind about asking Snake..I just saw her opinion ;)

Most men in the U.S. are circumcised (the ones I have seen anyway), and I am not saying that it makes it right...However, I can imagine if you are a preteen, or in your teens, and you are changing in the locker room, and you are different from everyone else, it might be a little akward. But maybe teen guys are not as sensitive as teen girls.

It is NOT child abuse! That is absurd. Turtles are nasty. I wouldn never marry a man with one either.

I dated this really hot german guy once...he wasn't cut....I couldnt really deal with that......

My best friend circumcised her boy because, as she put it, "He'll get more blow jobs, and thank me later."

But you should know that it hurts the little gaffers a lot. People used to say, "It doesn't hurt them; they go right to sleep afterward." That's not quite true, though yes, they are rendered unconscious.

I am pro circumcision, but I admit, I could not attend the several Bris that I have been invited to.:o

I remember visiting a friend and her husband in the hospital after their son was born. The little guy just had his circumcision that morning. He was wide eyed and kind of clutching his blanket. I did feel sorry for him.

Uh...maybe it is just me, but that would be the last reason in the world I would have that done to my child. Infact, that would be the last thing I would be thinking about for my child...ever. Not something a parent needs/wants to know. But that is just my opinion.:(

It is kind of like knowing your parents have sex; you know they do, but you do not want to hear about it.
