I was a guest for a long time, I didn't join when I found the site because it kinda' felt like when you walk up to a group of people you don't know and somehow insert yourself into their personal conversation. Later I joined up anyway because most seemed pleasant and nobody (that I know of) called me a newb or anything, I was quite impressed.
