moral support

I'm trying to clear a stubborn kitchen sink clog. So far I've tried at least three bottles of professional-strength Liquid Plumber, dismantled the pipes, used a wire hanger to pull out a bunch of unmentionable horror from the farthest point I could reach... I just poured down about a cup of baking soda and vinegar down there, and I'm boiling some water.

:(

I may have to go buy a snake... :(

That sucks, Lala! I always use Red Devil lye for my clogged dreains & it works really well. Good luck & I wish I had better advice for you.

lapietra 12-12-2004 08:31 PM

hmmmmm... Red Devil Lye sounds cheaper than a snake. I may try that next...

Make sure you follow the directions! I think if that stuff is not treated with respect, it could really fvck sh!t up!!

not an option... Believe me, I wouldn't be doing all this crap if it was... :(

Do the snake. (Sounds like a dance for Little Egypt, eh?)

Seriously. It's the only thing I've ever seen work. We live in an old house and own four older rental properties and I'm tellin' ya, do the snake.

And I am all out of moral support, but will always cheerfully lend immoral support to any endeavor! :D

It must be the day for it.
I have a problem today with my plumbing too. Apparently a tree root has grown through the outside pipes. Apparently this has caused sewage to back up and out onto the sidewalk.
I am ignoring it right now and will deal with it tomorrow.

Right now, I have other things on my mind.

oh no! well... that sounds worse than my situation...

At least if I buy the snake, I'll have it for future use...

And sparty - I can use all the immoral support you got! :D

My plumber friend says never use the acid-skull-crossbones type stuff on a tree root blockage - apparently it can clump around the tree root and cause a blockage itself.

I'll call the landlord and he can fix it.

His crappy house, his crappy sidewalk.

Zaftig 12-12-2004 11:44 PM

Just a thought. . .Sim and I had a major kitchen sink clog and we tried all the liquid drainage type stuff and it didn't work. . then he tried a plunger and it worked.

lapietra 12-12-2004 11:45 PM

oh... I forgot to say... I tried the plunger too... :(

But maybe I'll try it again. :)

lapietra 12-12-2004 11:46 PM

The thing is - the clog appears to be far, far down... in a pipe that I can't reach with the wire hanger. I think I'm going to have to take everything apart again and use a snake... *sigh* :(
