I still struggle to find the spirit. It's all about the buying. Queues everywhere. shitloads to do. Must not disappoint people.
I feel like handing out my credit card to my family and friends and tell them to get whatever. I'm sick of it.
What’s the point of guessing and worrying about what people want, and then they put up a fake smile and gee this is great when they get the wrong present and have no heart to change it? Where’s the time to relax, think, find the spirit, celebrate the birth of jesus or spend time with family and friends. Who is santa anyways and why is that tree in my living room?
You get mountains of food and when you throw away half of it later you try not to think about the third world because this is xmas, this is bliss, we are having a good time dammit.
When you are mentally and maybe financially exhausted you have a few day of bliss when you can be happy because it's a whole year till next time.

That was fun! It cheered me up, but it still didn't take away the depression that I am about to wrap christmas gifts. I really hate that part.

The only way I can wrap gifts is if I rent a few movies, buy a few bottles of wine and wrap gifts as I drink the wine and watch the movies. THE ONLY WAY!!!! By the end of the first movie and 1/2 way into my second bottle I'm feeling really creative and that's when I put all the extra bows and ribbons on the gifts to make them extra pretty.

That is what I have been doing. Except that I lose all creativity. In a little while I am going to buy all of the ribbon for my bows, and maybe I will get into it and enjoy it a little.

*checking to see if I have enough wine*

... and while you do that, i'll be watching a movie on the couch with a confederate screwdriver....

but i'll refill your wine glass from time to time....
