The town so nice, they named it twice.

So,

I'm going down to NYC tomorrow. Making my first ever trek there. I'm more than a little bit excited about the whole thing.

So this is the semi odd part. I'm staying with a girl who I've only spoken on the phone with one time. I've been exchanging emails with her since some time last November. I originaly connected with her in response to a humorus Cragislist add stating how she wanted to flee the USA after the election results. (Somewhat sarcastic)

She is taking me to http://www.motherfu-ckernyc.com/ (remove the hyphen in the middle) on sunday night. An interesting time is bound to be had by all.

If you don't hear from me by tuesday, I've been abducted, call the police.

Rock on.

Gotta get the frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity's, just before the tram on east eightieth or ninetieth. Can't remember. And see if you can get away with roller skating down the ramp in the Guggenheim. :D

Make sure you drop by the Algonquin and have a drink in the lobby/bar.

So, the trip down was quite the experience. I was pretty impressed for a first go at NYC. My budget was kinda low so i did more walking and taking in the sites than anything else.

The girl who I had never met in person was of course, not what I had expected. But, that in itself is about what I was expecting. I met her at her friends apartment. a 10th floor loft on east 42nd near the UN building. (my first landmark that I slid by) I guess he had inherited it from his grandfather as it was way to nice of a place for a dude who works as a swim instructor.

About as soon as I got there the drinking began. After a few bloody marrys there was a cab ride to this girl's postage stamp apartment on the upper west side. 80th and Broadway across fro Zabar's. Continue the night forward to a string of East Village dive bars, culminating at some whacked out bar with the most diverse croud I've ever seen. Gender bending indy rockers would be one way to describe it. Transvestites meets punk is another. The bar had three gogo dancers going. One was a super hot chick in not much at all. One was a ripped black dude in a little bit less, and the third was a man dressed as a woman who was prettier than the previous two.

The night was being DJ'd by Michael T. One of the producers of the mother****er party I was going to the next night. Tickets for that event were $15. That being said, the friend of this chick I was with (who claimed to be straight) gave this Michael T. a BJ to get on the guest list. I mean, I'm cheap, but not that cheap.

Danced the rest of the night away, came home pissed drunk, nice headache the next day.

Starting at about noon on sunday I walked down Broadway from 80th towards downtown just taking in the sites. Walked through times square and saw the naked cowboy. Waited in line and went to the top of the Empire State building. Took the (wrong) subway, nearly ended up in the brooklin, instead ended up in little italy / china town. I walked around there, then up into Soho, down west Broadway to the site of the WTC. I spent about 2 hours there just looking, reading, sitting and thinking. I found it to be a surprisingly powerful experience.

I got on the subway to go home, it was now about 8:15. I missed the fact that I needed to change trains and ended up in Queens near sundown. I had a pretty major panic attack, but managed to get myself sorted out and back on the right train going the right way.

Got back to this girls apartment but she was not there... I chilled for about 45 mins till she and this dude showed up. I had almost decided to take off and drive home since the night before had gotten a little odd. Had a beer with them and decided that all was ok. We all got ready for the party. I watched them snort a few lines of coke, (no thanks I said) and off we went.

I could try to describe the mother****er party, but i think pictures are better. No, I'm not in any of them. Willi Ninja and the house of Ninja were there. Man, that dude can Vogue like there is no tomorrow. Men should not have shoulder flexibility like that. Nor should they wear baby blue skin suits, but that is another story.

I lost the chick and this guy in the crowd. I spent most of my time just checking out the show. There was enough gender bending going on in there that I figured picking up was just not worth the time. There were midgets who were paid to be there. (carnival theme) At first I felt bad until I saw one of the midget chicks sitting on some guys lap making out with him. At around three I decided to pack it in and get some sleep. I had a 6 hour drive ahead of me for Monday.

I got moving at 11:00 on Monday and this girl still had not come home. I pretty much just packed up my stuff and left. I was kinda glad I did not have to see her, it was just a bit odd all in all. I went and got my car out of the garage I left it in. $72 for 2 nights, and somehow this was not a bad rate. I drove over to the "museum mile" on 5th avenue and took a tour of the Guggenheim. I only had time for one museum, and I'm a big Frank Lloyd Wright fan so I figured the building itself was cause to go. I did the tour, then took a short walk in Central Park.

When I left the park I managed to lose my car. I had a major freak out at the thought that my car, and all my stuff had been towed and impounded. Fortunately for me it was only that I had come out of the park a bit too far north and was walking in the wrong direction to find it. Once i located the vehicle I got in, took a few deep breathes, started her up, and headed back for Montreal.

Quite the weekend indeed.
