Hurricane Rita!
 

If anyone knows any place in Austin that is avaiable, my parents, two brothers, sister in law and a chocolate lab are evacuating tomorrow..it is supposed to be a catagory 4 by tomorrow and heading right for them. :(

I am contacting this place for some help for them right now, all the hotels are full of evacuees from Katrina. If anyone knows ANYWHERE that they could go, please let me know!!!!!

They are in league city right now.

Also, Beale has called from Memphis, where he is safe & sound.

Houston was very, very lucky.
Rita went to the east of us and hit the very southwestern edge of Louisiana. It's been downgraded to a category 1 hurricane and is over East Texas now.
In our yard, we have lost of leaves, small limbs and twigs. We never lost power which is absolutely amazing considering the winds really whipped up through here.

I can't get a hold of them, I am guessing that cell phone towers are down. I know they are safe though. The people that took them in really are angels!

Is it over? There isn't really that much coverage on it over here...

This is what I got. Looks like a mess of moisture. Hoping for the best that things return to normal soon for the entire Gulf coast.

lots of damage very near where i live. one town is still out of power, others are devastated. we had a little damage here, but nothing significant. came close, though

it was about the only thing that could keep me from enjoying time in memphis.
