Essential

I recently moved from Montreal to Ottawa for work. This is a big change in life style. The part that pisses me off the most? I don't know where to go for breakfast on sunday morning.

I don't need anything fancy, just a quality hole in the wall dump that will sell me bacon, eggs, toast (maybe some sausage and hash browns too) and a coffee for like 5 bucks. A place where after a while they will get to know me. A place where I can order the "regular." A place where I can sit, drink my coffee, enjoy my meal, read my paper and generaly have a lazy start to my Sunday morning. This is a vital component to my existence. I don't know of a place like that in this city (since I've been here for 10 days) and it sucks. I had a great place in Montreal, but now.....

Almost everything else I can deal with in having left a city I love.. but Sunday breakfast in a shit hole diner, this is essential.

Like "Cheers" but without the liquor. ;)
Around here it would be the Waffle House. Where you are is anyone's bet.

go here! it really is in ottawa too, aparently. these people are having the best time of their lives. notice how lovingly the girl grasps the tea pot.

(don't mind me, i'm just back from the pub)

There are pictures on the wall in that place. That's way too high class for me

More like this?

Max needs someplace where belching is not just 'tolerated'.

I went online to Ottawa's site. You're looking for a greasy spoon resturaunt type I think. Diners as we call them in Jersey. Good luck.

Max Headroom 11-09-2005 10:49 PM

yes indeed, the greasy spoon is what i'm looking for... wording which i avoided since it's a bit of a local term i think...

And yes gats.. that looks closer too it, but you can see out the windows.. like someone cleaned them in the last 10 years...

12"razormix 11-10-2005 06:43 AM

how's the new job, max?

Max Headroom 11-10-2005 08:03 PM

ikea has to be one of the creepiest places on earth. Freaks me out every time I go..

The job is great. Lots of work and long hours, but I enjoy it. I don't mind staying late either since I don't know a single person here

So, Max, where are you having breakfast tomorrow?

Max Headroom 01-07-2006 07:51 PM

Ada's Diner....

A 5 minute walk from my door,

Nice little family run place. Ada usual brings the coffee and says "there you go dear" when she puts it on the table... It's great.

xfox 01-07-2006 09:22 PM

Here's an important link for you to check if you come here, or before leaving home again.

Hope Ada continues to please!
