The artist formerly known as P. Diddy has decided to drop the P.


Originally christened Sean John Combs, the entertainment mogul has gone through several monikers, calling himself Puff Daddy, Puffy and P. Diddy.

"We're going to keep Diddy," said the 36-year-old. "I felt, to be honest, that the 'P' was getting in between me and the fans. These days, you have to be close to your fans, you can't be 'too cool for school.' They have to be able to connect with you.

The name change will hopefully clear up some confusion among fans itching to chant his name at concerts. "I was at Madison Square Garden doing a concert and half the crowd was chanting 'P. Diddy' and the other half was chanting 'Diddy.' It was confusing.

I'm really glad he cleared that up.. That was a pretty major issue to deal with, especialy the concert part
