PLEASE HELP THE LITTLE ONES

As you may not know, I am involved with several charities. This to me is a particularly deserving cause and it has touched me quite deeply.

Mute Tourette's Syndrome has long been in the shadow of its more famous sister disease and although much rarer, is even more tragic in its consequences. While a child suffering from Tourette's has difficulty containing their anger and frustration resulting in spontaneous verbal eruptions, a child with Mute Tourette's cannot express itself in this fashion.

There is however an answer. A great deal has been achieved by the Mute Tourette's Foundation using new art therapy techniques. But their work can only continue with our help. Just 50 cents will keep a child in crayons a for a day, and $2.50 will provide enough paper for a whole week.

I hope you can help me and give your support. I've attached a picture of what the therapy can achieve, and I believe it will affect you as it did me.

Oh the poor dears. What's your paypal address, Dinz ?

dinzdale 02-28-2006 01:37 PM

I'll let people google for the Foundation. It's so gauche to solicit funds on a bulletin board. I'm just trying to spread some awareness in my own small way. :o

Oh dinz. You were ever the softhearted, caring sort. I'll be sending my entire life savings. Which isn't really very much, actually, but you know - every little bit helps!

zenbabe 02-28-2006 02:36 PM

I have an extra kidney if that will help!

Smartypants 02-28-2006 04:22 PM

^^ Zennie, you are SO stingy. I happen to know that you have TWO kidneys. look into your (one) heart, and try to be more generous.

Avalon 02-28-2006 04:53 PM

Your kindness and warm heart never fail to amaze me :) I am not only going to give money and give generously..I am going to volunteer to help the little tykes with their signs.

Smartypants 02-28-2006 06:14 PM

What a great idea! I have some extra Ns, Os and Ps, all in Helvetica Neue Light Condensed Italic that I can contribute. E-mail me if you can use them.

dinzdale 02-28-2006 06:22 PM

You're all so very generous. I dont know what to say :(

And thanks Mr Pants, there's a little girl at our local Center for Mute Tourettes who can only express herself by writing HAIRY NIPS. I know she could use some of those extra letters.

*tear* this thread is so touching

Zeismyhero 02-28-2006 06:46 PM

I, too, would like to volunteer my time! After all, we wouldn't want them spelling those precious words incorrectly.

And I have art supplies I can contribute, too.

I'll have to check for a chapter in my area...

No doubt Knobless has already filled their coffers with plenty of U-s...
