I was just reading last night that teapots are traditionally round because the sphere contains the largest volume for its surface area, thus reducing the potential for heat loss.
Oddly, it was in a book for kids that I was reading to my son. It's about circles and such and he loves it. Apparently the nerd apple doesn't fall far from the nerd tree. |
