ok, think about this
Alright, I believe in sexual equality as much as anyone else. Actually, more than many people it seems. If the two sexes really are equal, why is there this stigma about hitting girls?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about beating women just because you can, I'm talking about fighting back when you need to. I've seen several people get their asses kicked by a crowd after they hit back when a girl laid into them. If the sexes were truly equal, then there wouldn't be a problem. So either people need to face the facts and admit that there is no such thing as true sexual equality, or else let a man and woman duke it out just like they would let two men do and not make a big deal of it.

There is no such thing as true sexual equality. Let's bench press together, and you'll see for sure.

Men also beat and fight each other
and people react when one is smaller, weaker or much younger then the one who beats him. So we must say that there's no such thing like equality at all.... Last edited by azur : 08-29-2003 at 04:36 AM. |

i agree with flippy on this one. it drives me nuts when women go on and on about equality but still expect men to open doors for them and pay for dinner...

what´s the trouble in keeping doors open for each other? i do that for everybody! it´s just being polite! it has nothing to do with the men vs women issue!

You're right, no matter how much we like to think we have sexual equality in society, we dont. I dont think we ever will.
Heres another example; If a man sleeps around a lot, with hot chicks, night after night. He is considered a "stud." He has it all. If a woman should do the same, shes a slag/slut. Why? As it happens I don't agree with either, no sex before marriage for me. I was just stating the fact! ![]() |

i think it has to do with women being in the prostitution profession for eons - (the oldest profession, blah blah blah)
its easy for men to relate a girl that likes to have sex with several men, to a "whore". But for a man who likes to sleep around, there is no real distinct relation to anything else, but a testosteroned high five. |

That's because they would rather shag a man (boy) than a woman.

i don't think men and women are equal (that's just silly)
i don't think that men and women should be treated equally, i think that EVERYONE should be treated fairly... okay, i'll explain ! i don't expect to be treated any particular way because i am a woman, or because i am american, or because i am straight i try not to treat anyone any particular way based upon their sex, sexual preference, religion, nationality, race, etc. as far as the hitting thing goes, i don't think anyone should fight unless they are defending themselves, period i don't expect anyone to agree with me and i don't care one way or another if they do my views are usually at odds with the general views of society anyway, and i'm pretty sure this will be true the rest of my life

Part of the problem is semantics - "equality" in this context does not mean "identical, exactly the same."
Obviously a 5'2" woman is not going to be physically identical to a 6'4" man, or a 4'5" boy. Arguing equality on that basis creates blustery impression of logic that's based on a false assumption. Arguments like that are a smoke show. Re: women who expect chivalry, IMO that's *their* thing - I'm a woman and I don't expect that, malina I think you're a woman too and you don't expect that - why paint all women with that brush? The fact that some women believe they should be treated differently doesn't mean that someone like Mr. flip is right. IMO that's a particular woman's choice as a *person*. I'm sure we all know high maintenance men as well. |

I agree w/Frieda & JT. I hold doors open for everyone. JT has a point about prostitution, although that doesn't make it right.
