I defenately liked the Narnia series for the younger age groups. (thats what got me into sci-fi/fantasy in the first place) And the audio series is really good. Especially for a younger person, seeing as how its not only a great story but has got alot of good morals too.

For the more mature audiences LotR is defenately at the top of my list. The Giver and the Outsiders are really good too.

And i gotta mention Eddings, he didnt strike me as a phenominal writer but he got me to read everything he wrote, in my book thats pretty good.

Coraline. A fine, fine, creepy Neil Gaiman book. Creeped me out much more than it did the ratlet.

I got so sick of my students mentioning Harry Potter that I got my hands on a couple. I absolutely loved them, and they're just getting better.

If I had the complete works of Dr. Seuss on hand, I'd throw my beginner English textbooks out.

As a kid I was a huge fan of Adventures of the Great Brain. I read The Jungle Book a dozen times, along with Wind in the Willows (although I always bogged down in the middle and jumped to the end where they kicked some weasel ass), The Hobbit 9with a little help from Mom), and a big book of tales of the Knights of the Round Table.

A friend of my mother's had a coffee table book full of cartoons (graphic novel, the kids say today) called Little Nemo. This chubby kids would fall asleep and drop into this funky dream world- it was beautifully illustrated in full colour. Anyone heard of it?

And I jumped on every collection of Charlie Brown I could. started sucking in the 80's, but back in the day it was damn funny.

And what Disney's done to Winnie the Pooh! check out the promo posters: Eeyore's SMILING! they thought it would sell more stuffed animals! And no one will ever hang for it.
