Group Therapy Session #1

my mom told me today my grandma has breast cancer. i'm not really worried for her. i'm a little wiged cause i've got this one lymph node that acts up on occasion and upon consulting a doc/friend, he said it could be a signal of impending breast cancer and that i should have it officially checked out. alas, no health insurance. so yeah, grandma.

Go get it checked out, health insurance or not. Do not wait, your life/health is too important.

It will probably be nothing, but you will feel much better when you find out it is just that, nothing.

I'm going to be eagerly waiting for your update.

Oh - beckstra - how scary -

*Please* - do yourself a favor & at least see if you have a free clinic in your town - that's the kind of thing, the earlier you catch it, the more chance you have of it being a minor inconvenience as opposed to a tragedy.

Hope your grandma pulls through okay - the technology for this is so much better than it used to be - My grandfather had quadruple bypass surgery last year (at 82) and, though he had a bit of a hard time immediately after, came through just fine & is doing really well. That used to be something frightening for a much younger man, but nowadays (apparently! ) it's a routine thing...

i've got a little lump in one of my breasts myself.. found out about it when i was 17, had it checked out, turned out to be a fibro adenoma (sp?). it wasn't necessary to get it out, but i have to get it checked out ever 2 years to see if the thing is still benigne.

go beckstra, have it checked out, things like this can cost you your life. and leave you the last bit of that short life in pain. what's it going to cost you if you're not insured?

i really hope your grandmother's going to be okay, and that yours turns out to be nothing!

do as they say, Beck. It's no problem to investigate it and it shouldn't cost much (does it cost anything at all?).
If there is anything that is valuable, it's you, ok?
We are all holding your hand on this one. You grab hold of your grannys hand too, she might be as scared as you are.
Good luck!

*hug*

Listen to them, go get it checked out. We will all hope for it to be nothing. Also hoping for the best for Grandma.
