Are you sure it wasn't that pick up game of hockey you were telling me about? The one where you high sticked some lady and she took offense and the two of you ended up in the back of separate squad cars?

I should also note that I gave up watching football as I always watched with my dad and it wasn't the same anymore. Especially when I'd see something spectacular and want to tell him about it. It's an empty feeling. It reminds me of how much I miss him. Which reminds me of how much I still love him. Which is a good thing.

Ah, I love black eye stories.

I feel compelled to share mine.

Back in 1999 I was living out in D.C. A friend an I went to the Capitol City Brewing Company. Then we decided to play catch in a nearby park. I fell and broke my right arm while trying to catch the football.

Two weeks later, I was drinking a corona, and I chipped my tooth on the bottle.

A few days later I bought a bottle of wine, and was using the cork screw on my leatherman to open the bottle. Well, I am right handed, so I had the wine bottle wedged between my knees, and my broken right arm. I was using my left hand to screw in the cork screw..When I pulled on the cork screw I slipped and hit myself in the right eye with the leatherman. Lucky I did not put my eye out but it was nice and black. Try explaining that one to your co-workers!

I like the one in Union Station. The artichoke cheese dip is to die for.

thats great, avvy, and i agree with klynne, your brother must have come and given you that shiner as a memento. the whole buying a parrot thing sounds like my sister.....except she buys fake mustaches......but i digress. no matter what happens, he'll always be there laughing at your shiner, and i hope you know that.
