maybe some others listen to this show "i'm sorry i haven't a clue" on bbc radio four, well, i do & thought we could have a go at one of the games ourselves.
it's very sipmle, all you have to do is invent a new deffintion for a word, here are a few examples taken from this weeks show (they've been better, but i can't remember them, so this'll have to do for now) Focaccia - a bread with no interest in the far east. Re tread - very red in Yorkshire (ok, so any non english peeps probably aren't going to get a few of these; sorry). Online - I dun' t' weekly wash. Apperatif - a pair of cocney dentures. Haddock - an enclosure for sea horses. Porkupine - to regret becoming a vegetarian. Whole saler - a whale's lunch. Quaker - a posh duck. Satire - seated in a more elevated postition. etc etc....

Been away for a while (3, 4 years maybe?!). Now an English teach (who still can't spell). Still loving being a mum, best thing ever, so much so that number 2's on it's way (oh & I got married last year!). |
