My friend passed away yesterday morning. He died peacefully surrounded by all of his family and all of his friends that could be there...he had many.
He never recovered consciousness after the heart attack. He had a severe blockage in a main artery before the heart, no oxygen was able to get to his brain or organs. His wife made the tough decision, with the whole hearted support of his familly to pull the plug on him after his status declined the previous night. The machines were haveing difficulty maintaining his heart beat, and even if his brain did perk up, there would have been very little chance of him surviving with what heart and kidneys he had left. I had a great conversation with his sister last night...we had many laughs recalling some of his antics. He was a guy that LIVED his life, and approached it with a NO PROBLEM attitude. If it was broke, he'd fix it. He is the guy that introduced me to Radio Control gliders. I remember so many times watching him fly the hell out of his airplanes and smack them into trees and hillsides, apparently totaling the airplane. As his fellow flying buddies gathered around the wreckage to offer our condolences he would just say, "No problem!!!, a little glue and balsa and it will fly again.", and it always did. I wish his heart had been made of balsa wood...it would be several lbs heavier from the extra glue and balsa...but he could have fixed it. ![]() I am soo sad, but also soooo glad to have been on his list of "best friends"...as he was on mine. I am waiting on word as to what the funeral arrangement will be, and preparing myself for a long sad drive up to Tacoma to see him off. Thanks to all of you for your kind thoughts. |

Oh hon, I'm so sorry. The way you talk about him, it sounds like you are blessed to have known him.

Coffee,
You already know how terrible I feel for you and his family. If there is anything I can do, please let me know.
