It's gotta be some weird subset of Munchausen's. I swear, I saw one develop over a period of years, all many years ago(seen at two different agencies). First she would simply flop on the floor and thrash about a bit, provoking others to step over her and continue on their way. But you see, enterprising practitioners schooled her with their questions: "Did you have respiratory difficulties?" "Did you grind your teeth?" "Were you incontinent of urine?" etc. etc. By the time I chatted her up in telemetry, she was able to produce a phenomenon virtually indistinguishable from a grand mal seizure merely at the neurologist's suggestion that it would be timely for her to have a seizure. And man, was she pissed when he told her that the telemetry indicated pseudoseizures. She had been busy telling me about the weight she expected to lose and the friendships she expected to make with neurosurgical staff. An hour later I chuckled to see her lumbering across a pedway, security staff in pursuit.

uhh... what does seizure surger consist of that people would want to have it done to them? or is it some kind of anaesthesia-high thing?

Oh yes. This is not uncommon in Munchausen's... which, ahem, nurses are rather prone to. The, ah, Munchausen's sufferer interprets it as something of an aggressive act, since the caregivers are generally left with the mess. And those Munchauseny types will endure ANYTHING to confound the practitioners surrounding them, including undergoing dangerous surgeries (in seizure surgery the supposed focal point of the seizure is determined in large part through EEG telemetry, and then that part of the brain is cauterized -- sssssssssss). They're putting one over on us, see, and doesn't that prove how clever they are?
