Health Clinic in Target
This is cool. They have health Clinics in Target!
An Innovation in Health Care to Open in Baltimore Market MinuteClinic Provides Quality and Convenience in Area Target Stores BALTIMORE, Md. (Aug. 9, 2004) – Quick, convenient, quality health care is turning up in your neighborhood. MinuteClinic is opening eight health care centers in Baltimore area Target stores beginning Aug. 17 in Towson and Cockeysville, with others opening through Sept. 23. MinuteClinic is a convenient “mini medical office” designed to treat a limited set of common ailments like ear, bladder and sinus infections, as well as strep throat. Baltimore-area MinuteClinic centers will also offer four vaccines: Tetanus/Diphtheria, Flu and Pneumonia (available beginning October 1), and Hepatitis B. MinuteClinic maintains strict criteria in choosing each service it delivers by only providing care that can be administered in 10-15 minutes, with outcomes equal to or surpassing other alternatives. Because no visit takes more than 15 minutes and no appointment is necessary, MinuteClinic is an ideal solution for professionals and working parents who cannot afford time away from the workplace. MinuteClinic centers are open seven days a week, including early morning hours and extended evening hours on weekdays. The result is a convenient care system that saves patients, employers and insurers time and money. MinuteClinic centers will open in the Towson and Cockeysville Target stores on Aug. 17 and the Pikesville Target store on Aug. 20. Centers will open at Target stores in Aberdeen, Bel Air, Ellicott City, Glen Burnie and Laurel later in the month and in September. Patients sign-in at the MinuteClinic registration area and if they cannot be seen immediately, a beeper is provided which allows customers to shop while they wait. Typically, wait times do not exceed 15 minutes. MinuteClinic visits will be covered by many of the Baltimore area’s top insurance providers, which means most patients pay an office-visit co-pay. MinuteClinic is in-network with: CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield’s PAR and PPO networks, Luminos, NCAS (National Claims Administrative Services, Inc.) and Definity. For patients paying out of pocket, most treatments at MinuteClinic cost $44. This compares to prices at primary care physician offices and urgent care centers that can exceed $100 and emergency room visits, which typically cost more than $300. As a result, MinuteClinic visits can save money for consumers, employers and insurance companies. |
