It was not a good idea. Too sick to have fun. However, in my absence the 72 hour window for ski trip cancellation passed, so as a strategy it had a certain merit.

There's some good news here:
Health care workers may be precluded from patient contact for up to 2 weeks because of this infection, particularly if they work regularly with individuals who are immunocompromised. In general, workers with significant contact with people should not work until the weeping stops, which typically takes 1-2 weeks.

Heh, yes, you see, that didn't strike me as good news so much as make me feel terribly guilty that I hung around being Typhoid Mary with a bunch of immunocompromised teens all day Tuesday. Good thing I was washing my hands about every third minute. But it's one way to ensure a peaceful holiday season!
