i just saw this thread -- yes children are safe here that is as long as they are not kidnapped and sold on the black market. you have to be extra careful during the holiday's because lots of people want kids for presents. other then that you guys should be fine

Astor on the Park is another nice little boutique hotel on the Upper West Side right next to the park on Central Park West at about 103rd.

The room was the size of a postage stamp, but it was clean, cheap ($109) and had everything I needed. Great location to subway, too.
