I prefer mint chocolate cookie.. lil' red from what you say I'm doing more or less the same thing for work as you. Just call those people and explain to them how they screwed you in the packaging of the original file. I share your anxiety in missing fonts and mislinked files, just don't give a second thought to calling them and _always_ send proofs. Lots of times they send crap, you print crap and they send it back. At least with a proof you'll put some of it on thier shoulders. good luck
