One very accountable charity effort sponsored by Ismaili Muslims that I have participated in is The Partnership Walk. The Ismaili community is very active, charity-wise, in my city. Unlike Christians, who tithe, Ismaili Muslims give an eighth of their income, or 12%, to the Aga Khan without question, and they receive no income tax receipt for their giving at the mosque (or jamatkhana, colloquially known as "kane," pronounced kah-nay). Some of our wealthiest local citizens are Ismaili, like the owner of this company, who receives regular mention for his community contributions/involvement. So, to me, this question is almost funny.
