Email related Tech Support Plz!!!

I checked my email this morning and my usual 35-40 Spam emails increased suddenly to 427...yikes!!! Most of these new spams were "message failure, your email could not be delivered" type emails...supposedly sent using one of our Big Bang Band adresses...our merchandise email addy.
Our site seems to be up and running...so it didn't get hacked, I assume.
We use Paypal for online credit card processing...Did Paypal get hacked?

Any clue or suggestions from those of you more technically inclined?

Thanks.
Cof.

new bagle worm

the worm steals email addresses from infected computers. someone out there has an infected pc and your email address somewhere. you get the delivery failure messages. yep, it sucks!

This is only somewhat related, but I have been trialing a new spyware killer and like it so much that I might actually buy it. It's called Webroot Spy Seeker, and it finally found the crap that was hiding out after my daughter downloaded a screen saver to my PC ages ago, and I couldn't do ANYTHING to get rid of popups. I am enormously grateful. I just hope they do a good job with updating their databases.

Do you think it would be ok to notify all the folks that purchased our CD online about the virus and suggest a system scan (providing links to info about the worm and how to get a free virus scan) if they haven't done so already???

Would that be presumptuous/rude to contact former customers like that???

that would be spam!

there's really nothing you can do about it.. maybe post a warning about the bagle virus on your website and a disclaimer that it's not you spreading the virus, but i certainly wouldn't start spamming customers!
