Ya know a cool feature of my Verizon account is that I can check my email through the net and on that site there are these buttons to block sender (which would not work in the case of a masquerading email created by that evil ass worm) and block domain which is what you really want. There are some email help programs such as Spam fire which I hear is good but I am too cheap to buy it and try it out.

Funky Tuba directed me to Mailwasher...it is free ware or you can subscribe for extra features.

It lets me preview emails before they reach my real email box. In Mailwasher I can bounce delete/add to blacklist/add domain to blacklist...blacklisted items are set to auto bounce and delete.

Nevertheless...427 emails this morning took quite a long time to download, preview and sort through the program's automatic filters...and I still had to manually check to see that legit mail didn't get blacklisted by the auto blacklist filters (happens often actually) as well as add new stuff to my manual blacklists.

jeesh.

yep, that is the only thing that sucks about spam filters. There really is no fix for fighting off the spam once it starts. All those programs and features for spam fighting still takes time to go through and read what is good and what is bad. Once you get it going though, it will make life a little easier esspecially knowing the crap is not going directly to your computer. My solution, get a new email address... While at work on my bosses computer I unfortunately looked for a web site on the TV show Desperate Housewives and ended up on a site for Cheating housewives -don't go there! as it has somehow figured out my bosses computers email address and he is now getting spam from there - yes, even on a MAC. I can not wait to see what kind of crappy lie about spam I am going to have to come up with to explain why he is getting those emails.

My credit card details have been stolen by some-one in Japan. The only place I use it is the ever-so-safe-they-are-always-telling-us-so Paypal.
