I've never really been into the reality show but I always did wonder how some people took it after the show ended. The few I have seen a lot of people make huge fools out of themselves, that might not have been the reason here but it unfortunatly doesn't surprise me.

the funny thing is how they call it 'reality tv' when it
has absolutely no relationship to reality whatsoever. it really is orwellian.

I don't watch reality TV. It is just so much more of the "Jerry Springer" mentality to me.
From the first commercial for Survivor, I wanted to see a bunch of people who agree to be dropped off on an Island with cameras and microphones but nothing else. Each person could have a buzzer or there could be a central bell or something. When a person gives up, they ring the bell. Then for however long it took, we could watch them create a little society and actually try to survive. The last person wins. Very 'Cast away', 'The Quay', 'Lord of the Flies'. None of this "eat a rat and you can drink champaign" crap.

I'm just going to state my opinion: If someone goes onto a reality show, they know the risks. They know *everyone* is going to see it. They know if they make an ass out of themselves it's not going to be private. They know there is a chance to lose or be humiliated in some way. How can it be the reality TV shows fault when they commit to this knowing the risks? I do believe reality TV has gone too far and has become utterly rediculous, but I don't see how it's the TV shows' faults if someone, extremely tragic as it really is, kills themselves. I have had friends and family who have committed suicide so believe me when I say "I feel their pain".
