Seriously folks, how about the "Pebble" (a small stone worn smooth and round as by the action of water)?

Xfox.
Pebble is a cute but non-applicable name. Sorry, you lose. However. You are very very welcome to "Come aboard" anytime. I'd be happy to have you as crew or passenger. If you are ever going to be in the S.F bay area...let me know. And thanks for ALL the suggestions. I am STRONGLY leaning towards "Sea Weed"...a totaly awesome suggestion Peef! If green epoxy based boat paint is availble, it will cinch the deal. And I did of course immediately think about naming the boat after my deceased buddy...except...we shared the same name, except that we added a letter "y" to his name in High school to differentiate between us (just cuz he was way shorter than me...phew, thank goodness I didn't get the Y ) and he HATED IT. So I'm not gonna name the boat "my name or my name-y".I could also call it "Magoo", a childhood nickname of his, but it was only used by his family and in his pre-high school days. It wouldn't be appropriate to use that either. "Rememberance/In Memory/etc" are just to depressing, and that wasn't my buddy's style AT ALL. He would LOVE "Sea Weed" though. I will call the boat "Magoo" privately, a nick-name if you will. I'm going to actually see the boat for the first time in about an hour....I'm sooooo excited. |

i think sea weed is pretty good too. i can understand how you dont want it to be something in the memory of. you should name it something that you know that he would enjoy. the boat looks like its going to come out good. congrats!

I love sea weed, but wouldn't you draw unwanted attention to yourself?!

Ooooh, Coffee! Thanks for the ink and the invitation! Don't know if it'll ever happen, but i won't forget to let you know if i'm in the area. You are right. Sea Weed IS the best name, but also a possible invitation to the Coast Guard. Does a federal agency have the right to board without cause?
My late father always had a sailboat, and I always hated going. It was like mutiny on the Bounty. I'm too soon old and too late smart. May the wind always blow softly your way. Don't forget to keep a ship's log. |
