I never cared what my kids wore on top of their heads; it's what 's between their ears that's important.

Cruelty, selfishness and unfairness are not tolerated. Peroxide, Elmer's Glue (the beauty aid -- who knew?), green and pink dye and as much damage as they could do with a clippers and nail scissors have never fazed me. If you don't make a big deal, they grow out of it, literally and figuratively.

IN: Glue, dye, sparkles, bleach, wide chops and narrow trims growing out of the top of the head.

OUT: Racist, sexist, intolerant or unkind remarks coming out of the mouth beneath the mop of technicolor hair.

Simple. Not always easy, but pretty simple.
