what happened to the girl with the baby? And how does the doctor manage to keep such a tidy haircut? And how come that fat guy hasn't lost any weight??
It was good though, when that kid appeared all soaked it freaked me out!

I have been wondering how they all manage to keep their hair from growing. Well, most of them, anyway. I assume "the island" takes care of their grooming needs along with everything else.

I wondered that too. Why aren't the girls all sportin' hairy legs and pits? Instead, they look like they get waxed on a daily basis.
The season 2 premiere was good. I was dying to see who survived the boat sinking and if Sawyer really got shot.

Well, what's with them saying in the preview of next week that the 'fate of the islanders will be revealed next week,' or something like that.

We call them tv shows. Hi, laughingbuddha.
Well, I read a very long thread elsewhere that had all kinds of speculation in it. The notions I liked or subscribe to: The dude in the hatch doesn't have a creepy disease, the island does. He has to live down there and keep immunizing himself with the stuff labeled incidentally with the magic numbers (which add up to the 180 seen in the graffiti on the underground lair's wall) in order to keep himself safe from the effects of the island, which seem to have to do with making a person psychically gifted but batty as hell. Oh yeah, and it can repair nerve tissue (remember Locke). Perhaps the thing that crashes through the trees and roars is remotely controlled by Desmond (the dude in the hatch, who appeared in Jack's tour de stade flashback)? When Jack's key wandered off his chest, that was probably indicating he was close to a BIG generator. My personal speculations include something to do with immortality or anti-aging -- I wonder if Danielle and her crew were originally from the Black Rock, and she's really a couple hundred years old. That sort of secret would be worth the kind of guarding Desmond seems to be involved in. The little dude who appeared to Shannon, Walt, I don't know if he's dead or alive. But in apparition form he kept whispering something about pressing the button, which probably meant the execute button on underground Desmond's outdated computer. There's also something brewing about the watch that Jin brought. It's huge and there was no good reason for his FIL to send him across the world just to deliver it, unless it contains a substantial secret. There's also probably something brewing to do with the fact that everyone on the island seems to have at least one evil parental figure.

Okay, so. Now it looks like the whole island was maybe used for some sort of biological weapons test? And that Desmond expected the whole world to be gone while he was down there scarfing Apollo bars? And either the weapon or an adjunct to it restored nerve damage -- I bet we find out through more flashbacks that he gave Jack's erstwhile wife Sarah an experimental drug that "fixed" her in the same way that Locke got "fixed" when he arrived on the island.

Check out this thread about it. There are a couple of screen captures in the thread. Then check out this guys analysis of LOST itself. I heard a giant whoosing sound as I was reading it.
