Don't ask me - they came that way. LOL
We adopted them when they were a few years old. Thought they were normal cats until the first time we took a shower and they managed to sneak their way into the bathroom. The one cat will hide on the ledge between the shower curtain and liner - if you're not paying attention, you won't notice him there until after you're already in the shower and suddenly feel something rub up against you. It's like the movie "Psycho" on catnip. Oh, and they will not drink out of a water bowl. This includes the neat little $50 water fountain thing I bought for them with ever-filling fresh water. Nope. Only Eau de Toilete for them. Nothing but the finest Tidy Bowl will do. I'm telling you - they're dogs in disguise.

I opened this thread wondering why someone would quarantine my fat beagle Fred!
Klynne, glad to know your Fred has been saved from the guillotine. Sapphire, we require photographic proof of your cats appreciation of baths...

Somewhere in the boxes I have a picture of one of them waiting on the edge of the tub with the shower running - I'll scan it as soon as we move/unpack. ![]()

First, Fvcknut is a very funny phrase. When characters on Deadwood say it, I lose it every time. I go all "junior high" "Beavis and Butthead" over it.
Second, yep, they do remove the head. My friends dog flipped out and bit a neighbor kid's face and had she not produced the record (her responsibility, not the vet's) they were going to cut off his head and test the brain for rabies. I am very glad you had the paperwork. Even if my kitty liked baths, she wouldn't like a groomer doing it. Glad your kitty is OK! ![]() |

My aunt used to have a cat who would swim across the creek to get to the other side.

I tried to wash my old cat once and he shredded up the plastic mat on the bathtub with his claws and made the neighbor think I was killing an old woman by his screams.

Sapphire - you've got some really cool cats! I took in an abandoned kitten 6 yrs ago that actually had a pierced earring in one ear. Yes, she's a little strange, but loving.

Allergic but no baths...
...I'm allergic, but I just wipe my kitty down with a warm wet paper towel, every other day.
She squirms and wiggles and gives me dirty looks after, and shakes her paws in disgust and then bathes herself for two hours, but it does help with my allergies. She doesn't run from me so I think she secretly likes it. ![]() |
