The best presents I gave (as in "best reactions"):

digital camera to my daughter
Boston Red Sox hat and a book about "Spam" to my middle son
Moonboots for my youngest son
Tivo to my husband.

Best presents I got:
a sapphire/diamond pendant
the Tivo I gave my husband
a copy of Austen's Sense and Sensibility from a girlfriend

Well, Imogen didn't get much of anything else....she was pleased with a big bag of Chex Mix, y'know?

Noah my middle kid was thrilled - much more so with a damn hat he'll never take off and a poster of Wrigley Field than with his MP3 player

And Will, the youngest, made out like a bandit - ! His presents were cheaper, so he got more of them. He was done playing with his roboraptor (from a family friend) in half an hour and hasn't looked at it since....

and Craig - did you have a nice holiday? Time off work?

I have often considered taking up teapot-collecting as a hobby.
It's something that really attracts me. (I'm being serious)

I'm a little teapot, short and stout...

Yesterday, I got my self a wood gnawable nesting box, some rat treats, and a new rat. Dumbo, blonde and white, name of Quistis. I forgot how tiny young rats are - She's less than half the size of Beatrix, who's my smallest. She's really sweet, though, and jumps like a cat.
