well, jeez.. 2005..

it was the year in which i heard i would never walk again, but also the year in which in walked again..

and more of those things. for me, 2005 was the year in which i realised that being happy really is a verb. it's not about what happens, but about the way you look at things.

it was the first year of the rest of my life

2005:
-An expensive equipment and lost art files crash year.
-Seen some good friends go through some "interesting" times, and rode shot gun with a couple of them at times.
-One death in the family...and a fairly significant one in terms of how holidays will be viewed and celebrated ever after.
-Came to a life style change decision in 05 and the timing of the change was accelerated for me at the end of the year. That will play out early in '06...and we'll just see how that decision floats soon.

It wasn't the best of years (that was a tie between '00 and '03), and it wasn't the worst of years (that was '04).

I'd rate it an '05 on a scale of '10.

Utter turmoil, chaos, despair, delight, adventure, challenge, big rewards. New job, new city, great boyfriend that I've been waiting for all my life. A *very* bumpy ride! Still recovering.

2005 (in a nutshell):
started off the year in bed with a cold
made second film (and got confusingly good grade for)
passed first year exams with a 2:1
made two fabulous new best friends
started going to club nights that i was actually interested in
started going to gigs with people who really cared
started hating my course
started complaining
made friends with someone who had experienced a thai jail
new boyfriend
monopoly board pub crawl
ending the year with a kiss

it's not been bad

I had some challenges, but I still think it was a damn good year.

The worst part of 2005 was getting mugged twice and getting punched 3 times during those muggings.

The best part of 2005 is that we moved into a much better place in a much quieter neighborhood.

In 2005, I graduated for the last time and got my first job.

I'm not particularly happy about either, but the paycheck is nice.
