It's been a shame what has happened over the last week, but I'm interested in looking at something.
Two years ago, the same paper refused to publish a cartoon of Jesus with his weiner out becuase it judged it to be offensive. It has now decided to publish these cartoons, I beleive, in provocation of the muslim world, knowing full well it would offedn a particular group of people, namely radical muslims. As the US possibly prepares to invade Iran, what better way of getting Muslims in the media as 'the bad guys', by provoking them into demonstrating around the world? The knew full well what the effect of publishing those cartoons would be: A mass uproar from fundamentalist muslims. They can then push this story around the world, thus enraging even more muslims, and making powers in the west go: "Look, the muslims are nuts! If they had enriched Uranium they'd make bombs and kill us all. Let's get them before they get us!" Just some thoughts....... PS I think it's OK for the Muslim world to boycott Danish products though. I can't imagine that they're really going to miss all that beer, bacon and pornography.....
