Thanks, everyone - these are some great ideas. They are very nice women and I would like to keep everything as friendly as possible. At least the utilities are included on the rent, or this could get even more complicated!

Auds - we can't close the vent - it's this long, metal, old fashioned thing that has, like, 157 layers of paint on it - believe me, if it was that simple, I wouldn't have posted.

Dinz - already did that, years ago (that's how I pass

ooo-ooo-ooo)

Brynn - I love the "bed buddy" idea! I bet I could get flax seeds in bulk cheap at Rainbow Grocery.

We are planning to move as soon as we have some moolah saved up for a deposit - we've got too much stuff! and I like to sleep nekkid and we have to go outside the bedroom to use the loo (sorry - TMI

) Rob fixed the window, so there's a lot of good fresh air coming in - and I found this swamp cooler - heater - air freshener thing (with a remote control!) So I think we may end up getting this for our room, since it will be useful to us in the long run - and then try to keep an eye on the thermostat! And I think I'll pick up an electric blanket for them. I found one that's not expensive and it'll be a nice "reminder" gift.

after careful consideration, i have come to two conclusions.
1. maybe they are tired of listening to you fvck.
2. maybe you are going through the change and having hot flashes.

If I understand this correctly, they are downstairs, and you and the bf are upstairs? Offer to switch floors. Heat rises, and you and the bf and the coldies should be more comfy.

Nope - all the bedrooms are on the top floor - and believe me - we'd love to switch rooms with the wimmens - they have the master bedroom with a bathroom included!
I think we've got the problem under control

The window's fixed, anyway, which helps a lot! And I gave one of the women who was complaining about the cold the most a nice warm cuddly pullover that she likes a lot.

So tonight we got a fan, and put it backwards in the bedroom window (to pull out cat smells and cool the room off) - it works like a charm!
