The Washington Post had an amazing article in the Outlook section from June 4th about an older professional married woman with a family who got pregnant and how her physician denied her access to Plan B. She had an abortion and the article conveyed her extreme anger over the situation. In that case, Plan B would have prevented an abortion.
I know I have used it and it prevented me from (probably) needing an abortion had I ended up pregnant, which I assure you, I would have had an abortion in a fetal heartbeat. But happily we'll never know if that late night tryst resulted in pregnancy thanks to the timely application of hormones. Hooray!

I think that the vast majority of pregnancy terminations will not be amenable to the use of Plan B, simply because the vast majority of pregnancies are not discovered or suspected anywhere soon enough for it to be useful.

Think of the huge number of kids who still don't understand that unprotected intercourse can lead to pregnancy, or how much protection is required to prevent pregnancy, and you'll see what I mean.
