We used to make things here. Now, all the people who were good at thinking of things to make have left, sickened by the fact that those who didn't respect their heartfelt projects were allowed to dash through and destroy those things with impunity, over and over again. When they responded with anger, they were told that they should suck it up. When they tried to protect themselves, their methods were ridiculed or punished. When they tried to retaliate, they were called hypocrites. Eventually, they lost interest and moved on.
Now, this is no longer a place where one feels free to create. No one feels free to float a new idea because the only people left are the analysts, who will pick the ideas apart until there's nothing left, the wounded souls, whose minds are like a minefield of empty eggshells and who pretend to care deeply for people they've never met in order to seem...worthy? and the trolls, whose idea of beauty is any indication that their verbal stink bombs have rattled their victim. Which one am I? Why am I still here? What am I hoping will change? He's left us to our own devices. Do I think I'm someone who could help fix things here - is that what I'm hoping? I'm not intelligent enough, educated enough, or creative enough to do anything more than tend to my own life and my loved ones - and I'm barely capable of that... why to I continue to visit this place that disappoints more often than it delights? If this was a relationship, I'd be long gone. But where to?

The weird thing is, I just noticed a couple hours ago that there appears to be another Ze forum... completely detached from this one... connected to The Show. There are a bunch of members that I don't remember ever seeing here, and they have their own discussion threads and creative projects. THEY EVEN HAVE THEIR OWN LIMERICKS. Of course, this begs the question: who does Ze like better? Who are The ChoZen Ones? ![]() P.S.: I still want to make things, Lapietra! To you and anyone else of the same mind, I entreat* you: hop on over to the New Wive's Tales thread and together we will fashion the folkways of a newer and nexter™ generation. (Gen-Z!!!!!) *This does not mean I'm paying for anything!

If I contemplate that thing I despise for too long, I'm in danger of becoming it.

ironic, if i weren't sitting here at a manditory department of labor seminar about how to find a job, i wouldn't have just missed the phone call wherein i would have accepted a job offer.

Thank you for not politically endorsing anyone on Sunday. That's one of the reasons why I keep showing up there and not at that other place.

Quit talking about strategic planning and umbrella organizations and funding directives! I wouldn't let one of you people run an ELEVATOR for me!
