i feel affinity ness for these characters both here and when i encounter their kind in the world. i don't know why. it's more than just a case of there but for the grace of god go i.

a city, or a street, or a neighbourhood can have a spirit or essence and i firmly believe that sometimes these characters are conjured up by this spirit or essence of the place that they inhabit. one can't exist without the other.
