So I was thinking (and this was partially sparked by the first part of Milan Kundera's book Immortality) that my great-grandparents knew how pretty much everything they used day in an day out worked. You know...light switches and stuff. But most of the things I use every day are a mystery to me. I could ask about a ton of them, but I have one big question that kept me awake all last night:

How does the internet work?

Please help!

Please help! __________________ We are, of course, now living in what George W. Bush has called the "era of personal responsibility": if a child chooses to have parents who can't afford health care, that child will have to accept the consequences.
