Happy belated birthday, zero!
I go away for a month and suddenly you have a birthday. Since you are only reading this, here are the photos I failed to take: A flock of ravens between two pines, playing some sort of diving game as they take turns perching on the uppermost branch of the tallest one. A bowl of warm buttery, lemony brussels sprouties in a yellow bowl in front of an icy window. One million followers on Twitter for the Shut Up Man. A tribe of friends around the glow of a campfire telling true life ghost stories and playing guitars and jembe's or digiderooly thingies. You were there. "Oh how we laughed and sang!" A grassy dune, low tide at a long white beach at sunrise. Agates are everywhere. You pick them up and look at the sun through each of them, and put them down again - except for one orange-flecked one that feels good to hold in your pocket. Happy birthday, my friend.
