making candy in the living room of a house we don't have in a metal horse water trough we don't have propped up on a coffee table on a hot plate that's somehow causing this 50-gallons of sugar water to boil while the kids are watching TV, it flips over and floods the whole living room. the kids are safe up on the couch but I've got a whole hell of a lot of cleaning to do

the wife is annoyed but at least it's a tile floor

^That's a lot better description of what my candle dream was like than the one I gave. I was in a basement I don't have melting wax in big iron pots I don't have, pouring them into big iron molds I don't have...

Recurring dream set in the house I dream a lot of nightmares in. Usually the nightmares focus around a large bedroom suite in the easternmost wing of the house (I think it's haunted), but this was in the garage/basement area, which is much newer and more modern than the appointments of the rest of the house. There are lots of hoses and electrical cords carefully tied up, and newish shelving and grey concrete.

I was looking for something, some tool that I could use to fix a problem on the main floor, and passed through the little tiled conservatory into the more industrial section of the house. I wandered here and there in the cool grey dark but could not find the tool. A little boy about seven or eight, wearing a buttonup shirt and jeans, brown hair and brown eyes and maybe a little small for his age appeared out of nowhere. He was surrounded by a strange red haloish glow and his eyes were glistening hollows. He came towards me and I wanted nothing to do with him, and retreated through the garage/basement concrete maze. He pursued, not moving very fast but persistent.

Finally he spoke: "This is between you and your God." I knew exactly what he meant and it was not good, and woke up.

I can't find what I'm looking for
my mother, my friends, something elusive
at the top of all of these escalators, the windows looking out onto the rose garden at twilight
she says, it's time we go back down
but the escalators are full of foam, and I realize I'm trying to run down the ones that are "up only" - I can't see the stairs
am I supposed to be here?
