I wish I had a wayback machine so you could go back in time and make your Dad get checked earlier. If not that then just so your passport sanfu never happened.

In all consulates they are prepared for that kind of situations and if you "press" them well they should help you.

I hope everything goes well. A few months ago my dad had a heart attack, so I can sort of relate to what you're going through (part of it anyway).
