The band is Berlin (from California as it seems) and the singer-chick is Terry Nunn. A quote from a rag I found from that time (not online as far as I know):

A little something about Berlin and the era they were in:

The last three months of 1986 was good to the women of the early '80s. In the US, Bananarama went to number 1 with Venus, Cyndi Lauper's True Colors made number one, the Bangles walked like egyptians all the way to number one, Human League (now two-thirds women) returned to number one with Human, and Berlin found chart success with "Top Gun" ballad Take My Breath Away. Take My Breath Away was not a typical Berlin song. Berlin was a California new wave band which originally came together in 1979 when Terri Nunn answered bass player John Crawford's advertisement for a singer. The band went through a number of changes before recording their first single, Sex (I'm a...), in 1982. With the song came a flood of attention: positive from Geffen records which signed them and re-released their "Pleasure Victim" EP; negative from radio stations which refused to play the song (if you're wondering why scroll down and read the lyrics). The band scored hits with two other songs off "Pleasure Victim" - The Metro and Masquerade - but Sex (I'm A...) has remained the signature song of their early years. Following their initial success Berlin didn't get much exposure until they recorded Take My Breath Away in 1986, nor did they receive much after '86. The airy ballad confused old fans of this high energy new wave band, and top 40 listeners couldn't find anything else in Berlin's repertoire that they cared for. The follow up single to their number 1 hit went straight to number 82, then straight to oblivion.

Your welcome,
Martin.
