Do you live in national city or something? I know someone who lives on Imperial Ave. across the street from the KFC, on the bottom of a hill. It’s a bad neighborhood and gun violence is common. Also, I have a friend who is a total libertarian and he believes we should exercise our right to bear arms and protect ourselves. Of course, that goes back to what malina wrote. My point is, I can understand a persons motivations to get a gun, especially when that person lives in a dangerous area.

Tangentially, my cousin, the sheriff deputy, carries his gun with him everywhere...

I guess my past life as a pirate has left me jaded about guns and killing...
