We are such fundamentally social creatures that our bodies are calmed by the presence of others (unless of course, they are carrying spears or grenades). Being with others allows us to share our fears and reduce their burden. It enhances our perspective, so that we see new solutions to problems. It, too, enhances our minds chemically, and renews our spirit.

"Vanilla is a vine: it grows by climbing over some existing tree, pole, or other support. It can be grown in a wood (on trees), in a plantation (on trees or poles; possibly alternating with rows of sugar cane), or in a "shader", in increasing orders of productivity."

If dining at their house, be sure and compliment the cook. Eat slowly, and clean up after yourself. Offer to help with the dishes. Remember to thank them for the nice dinner.

i would argue that vanilla is not bland.

oatmeal, now that's a more analogous food.

of course it isn't. and water can be quite spicy!

side note: i know a gal who's married to a fella who doesn't like any flavor enhancers on his food. if he detects a note of oregano he'll refuse to eat on the grounds that it's "too spicy." now that guy, he's probably whiz-bang about oatmeal.
