OMG Zoomommy and I have matching cats, almost, cept for the 2 black spots on the face and the black tail, but I think just because she doesn't jump when I clap, I think Pike is pretending to be deaf. In a non-subservient kind of way....You could yell your face off and she wouldn't wake up, but if there's a dog bark, she's under the bed faster than light. I dunno.

I was just going to post what my long lost sister Audrey just did. I shave my cats, but it takes 2 of us, a tranquilizer and a E collar to do it. And, no self-respecting vet would consider defanging a house cat. I know from experience. Mork, the cat we just lost, was an epileptic and bit my index finger to the bone during a seizure. The vet wanted to put him down immediately and we said no, but we would consider defanging him..to which he said a resounding no. (With treatment, we had him another 14 years).

Just take her to the groomer; better and safer for her and for you.

Y'all are taking this much more seriously than I intended!
I don't really have to do anything for her other than feed her, cuddle when she wants it, and play chase for a few minutes in the morning and evening.
I gave her a bath...once. We came to a mutual agreement that I would never subject either of us to that experience ever again.
She even refuses to go in the bathroom when I'm showering just in case I forget.

This thread disappointed me when I opened it & read it.

Take her to the groomer. Even if you only do it once every 6 months. Pay someone else to get their fingers bitten.

Now if the thread had been "Should I shave my pvs5y?" a la Mrs Slocombe, ears would have pricked all over the board!

I guess nobody was prepared for a thread in which I made fun of my cat. Which is subject for an entirely new thread...

I would never shave my poor cat, Tiger. When anyone calls him fat, I just say it's all fur. How would I defend him if he didn't have any fur? xD

For indoor cats, you may notice that they’ll shed at virtually any time of the year. The shedding of their coats largely depends on lighting conditions, air conditioning levels and the constant temperature control in your home. But typically indoor cats will shed at any point throughout the year.

Cats shed in order to remove dead hair from their bodies. Dead hair can cause skin irritation and thus needs to be gone. If you don’t remove it for them, they’ll release it on their own. This is what disgusts so many indoor cat owners: how do you keep your cats from shedding so much? The answer is simple--daily brushing. If you brush your cat, you have full control over where the fur goes.

Reduce year-round shedding in as little as four weeks without interfering with your pet's normal shedding cycles. Effective oral blend of natural vitamins, minerals, oils, and herbs supplies life-extending nutrients to hair follicles to condense shedding into a controlled seasonal burst instead of a prolonged process. Shed-Stop also promotes healthy skin and a glossy coat. Reduces or eliminates hairballs in cats. Comes in formulas for Dogs and Cats. 24 ounce bottle.
